Art Nouveau Three-Tiered Pedestal Stand (c. 1900)

A striking and beautifully preserved example of turn-of-the-century craftsmanship, this antique Art Nouveau plant stand — historically referred to as a sellette or jardinière stand — perfectly embodies the movement's defining ambition: to unite functional design with the organic forms, sinuous lines, and natural motifs drawn from the living world. Dating from approximately 1890–1910, this piece was produced at the very height of the Art Nouveau period, when the movement's influence was transforming interiors across Europe and North America.

The three-tiered construction — with graduated shelves of descending size supported by a slender, elegantly profiled central column or framework — provides both practical display space and genuine decorative presence.
