Originally published in Paris in 1764 for Bellin's celebrated maritime atlas, Le Petit Atlas Maritime, this map offers a fascinating glimpse into Georgian-era London at the height of British imperial ambition.

Jacques-Nicolas Bellin was appointed Royal Hydrographer to the French King and his meticulous engraving style is immediately apparent in the fine detail of the street plan, the elegant cartouche, and the delicate hand-applied colour that distinguishes original impressions from later reprints. This is a genuine first-edition impression in excellent antique condition.
